Background
Q. In what area are you pursuing a degree?
I'm obtaining an associate's degree in the agriscience technician program.

Q. What is your dairy background?
My dairy background consists of working on a small dairy farm for about five years.

Q. What are some of your other activities or association involvement?
I help out at Menomonie High School boys hockey when I get the chance. I also help out with my church's slow pitch softball league.

Internship information
Q. What will your responsibilities be this summer?
My responsibilities will be heat detection, breeding protocals and AI.

Q. What do you hope to have learned by the end of your internship?
I would like to learn more about breeding programs and learning more about cattle.

Q. What can you do to make a meaningful impact during your internship?
To make a meaningful impact while doing this internship, I plan to just work hard and and try to keep a positive attitude while on the job.

Q. What do you think will be the most challenging aspect of your intern duties?
The most challenging part of my internship I think will be knowing all the different areas that I will be working in and knowing all of the different systems at those farms.

Future plans
Q. What do you hope to do after graduation?
I graduate in 2013 and depending how the internship goes, I would like to continue working at Genex. Plans do change so who knows what I am going to do in the future after school.

Q. Why do you want to remain a part of the dairy industry?
I would like to stay in the dairy industry because I like handling cattle, and agriculture is very important today.  PD
