With the event of the year just a few weeks away, World Dairy Expo (WDE) has announced several new additions to the schedule and offerings.

Sunset celebration

Celebrate the return of WDE with a free concert performed by recording artist Dillon Carmichael in the Tanbark on Oct. 1. Stay tuned for more information and to learn how to secure your free ticket.

New features for mobile event app

Want to search for your favorite cow or exhibitor? Now you can with WDE’s mobile app. Show results and railbird judging will be transitioning to the app, which can be downloaded for free on the App Store or Google Play.

WDE Dairy Cattle Exhibitors Facebook Group

A private Facebook group has been created to provide information to dairy cattle show exhibitors. In this group, exhibitors can find entry information, show reminders and updates during the week. To be accepted to this group, individuals must be an active dairy cattle show exhibitor, and posts must be related to exhibiting at WDE.

Relocation of the Tanbark

The Tanbark will be moving to the Arena Building this year, still serving as WDE’s space for networking and dining. This move was designed with the intention to capitalize on the networking, dining and connecting with old friends. The Tanbark will also be hosting the Culver’s Dairy Cattle Exhibitor Appreciation Picnic on Sept. 26.

Youth Showmanship Contest

The Youth Showmanship Contest will be moving to Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. Free online entries will close Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. Entry information can be found at World Dairy Expo - Youth-Fitting-&-Showmanship.

Tanbark Talks

Attendees can listen from industry experts each morning of WDE during Tanbark Talks. Hosted in the Tanbark at 8 a.m., the confirmed schedule will include:

Wednesday: Farming Forward Through Enhanced Innovation and Farm Profitability, presented by Dairy Management Inc.

Thursday: U.S. Farm Report LIVE, hosted by Tyne Morgan
