Dairy Producers of New Mexico (DPNM) held its 2010 Annual Convention/Trade Show and Golf Tournament a few weeks ago in Ruidoso, New Mexico. DPNM is a grassroots trade association for dairy producers in New Mexico and West Texas. DPNM has been having an annual trade show and golf tournament since 1990.

The trade show was held on Friday, June 11, at the Ruidoso Convention Center. There were 103 indoor exhibitor booths with 9 vendors displaying large equipment in the parking lot. Refreshments (coffee, donuts, milk, soda) were provided by Dairy Farmers of America and Western Dairy Transport. Lunch for the approximately 500 people at the event was provided by Hi Pro Feed. A silent auction was one of the attractions for the day, as well as door prizes given away by many of the vendors.

A reception was held after the Show at The Lodge at Sierra Blanca, catered by The Village Buttery with local DJ, Harvey T. Twite, providing music. The reception was partly sponsored by West Central Coop and Zinpro Corporation.

The 21st annual Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, June 12, at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Golf Course with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. There were 101 players in three flights. First, second and third places were awarded cash prizes in each flight. Breakfast, lunches and drinks were provided by Farm Credit of New Mexico.

DPNM’s 22nd Annual Convention/Trade Show and Golf Tournament is scheduled for June 10-11, 2011.
