History
The purpose of the show is to help promote the Holstein breed and provide an annual gathering place for breeders to get together in the intermountain West.
- Show chairman:
Craig Harris – the first exhibition took place on his great-grandfather’s farm - 1912: first Holstein Show held in Richmond – short break from 1913-1914 due to national hoof-and-mouth disease outbreak, but the show resumed in 1915, just a few blocks from the current location.
- 1923: “The Milk Pail” printed by Sego Milk Products Company was the first premium list for the show.
- Today: This show has become one of the premier dairy shows in the world and is called the Western Spring National Show.

- $10,000 for the Grand Champion cow
- $2,500 Senior Best Three Females (bred and owned)
- $2,500 Junior Best Three Females (bred and owned)
