On October 28, 2015, the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB) honored Bill Ahlem and Joe Bavido as the 2015 recipients of the Richard E. Lyng Award for their extensive contributions and distinguished service to dairy promotion. 

NDB presented them with the award at the Joint NDB/National Milk Producers Federation/United Dairy Industry Association Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. Ahlem is a dairy producer from Hilmar, California, and Bavido is a dairy producer from Sharon, Tennessee, and former national checkoff employee.

At the 48th Annual Conference of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners in New Orleans in September, Zoetis awarded the following fourth-year veterinary students with a $5,000 scholarship and a paid trip to the conference as part of the 2015 AABP Foundation Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholarship program:
