• Rui and Alvarina Medeiros and their son, Brian Medeiros, of Medeiros & Son Dairy were honored as the Dairy Family of the Year for Kings County, California, during a dinner in Hanford during June Dairy Month.

• Jerry Emerich of Select Sire Power was honored as the Select Mating Service (SMS) genetic consultant of the year at the national SMS Genetic Consultant Conference May 6-9 in Visalia, California.

• Phil Tong, director of the Dairy Products Technology Center at Cal Poly, was recently recognized with the Award of Merit from the American Dairy Products Institute.

• Kline Jones of Dublin, Texas, and Tryce Berend of Windthorst, Texas, each recently received a $2,500 scholarship from Dairy MAX, which every year encourages continued involvement in the dairy industry by students.

• Victoria Baker, a senior territory business manager for Zoetis, received the National Outstanding Young Guernsey Farmer Award at the American Guernsey Association National Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma. PD
