Garry Kibler, whose dairy milks about 300 cows, was featured in a Tribune Chronicle article about the challenges facing today’s dairy farmers, including succession planning and lack of available farmland.

Petersen Dairy
Appleton, Wisconsin

The Petersen Family Dairy in Appleton, Wisconsin, was awarded the U.S. Dairy Sustainability Award in the outstanding dairy farm sustainability category. The farm has since been featured in several articles featuring the unique things that earned the award, including using recycled newspaper as bedding.

Newton, Wisconsin

The Post-Crescent of Wisconsin featured sisters Julie Maurer, Stacy Klotz and Kelly Goehring in an article highlighting their family dairy operation. The three women are partners with their parents in the Soaring Eagle Dairy in Newton.

Marin County, California

Bivalve Dairy was featured in the July edition of Flourish magazine. The organic dairy in west Marin County is run by John Taylor and his wife, Karen, whose mother, Sharon Bianchini, previously owned what was then a conventional dairy.

Dino Giacomazzi and Joe Machado
Hanford, California

Dairyman Dino Giacomazzi and dairy operator Joe Machado of Hanford, California, were quoted in an article by the Hanford Sentinel regarding proposed legislation that would require dairy farmers to prove that they are not overusing antibiotics in their herds. Neither producer sees a need for such a bill.

Gary Kieffer
Utica, Minnesota

Dairy owner Gary Kieffer was featured by Minnesota Public Radio in a segment discussing the rising number of robotic milk systems in the state. Another producer, Duane Alberts of Pine Island, was also quoted.
