Shane Giese
Pound, Wisconsin
Dairy farmer Shane Giese was featured in an article in the Wisconsin State Journal highlighting the Dairy 30x20 Initiative, a state-run program designed to help Wisconsin dairy farms become more profitable and sustainable.

With the help of a team of experts, Giese was able to increase his daily milk production from 60 to 70 pounds per cow.

Stacie Ballard
Gooding, Idaho

Producer Stacie Ballard was featured in the Capital Press in an article discussing the effect the Affordable Care Act is having on their dairy farm. The dairy learned that they wouldn’t be able to keep their current insurance since it doesn’t meet minimum requirements.

John Noble
Wyoming and Livingston County, New York

John Noble, president of Noblehurst Farms, was quoted in an article in The Daily News. The article announced the groundbreaking for a new cold milk separation facility that will be built by farms in Wyoming and Livingston counties, in partnership with Dairy Farmers of America.

Louis Calcagno
Moss Landing, California

Louis Calcagno, owner of Moonglow Dairy, was quoted by KSBW in an article discussing the possibility of a sharp spike in prices at the beginning of the new year if a new farm bill is not passed. Calcagno said that he feels the problem is mostly hype and won’t result in the $7-a-gallon prices some are predicting.
