Adrianne Martella Tulare, California Director of Communications J.D. Heiskell & Co.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I was born and raised in Tipton, California, near my family’s dairy and farming operation. I have worked for a calf-raising company here in Tulare as well as at my husband’s business, Martella Livestock Market, Inc.
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies from California State University – Fresno.
What territory will you cover?
My territory will be comprised of anywhere that J.D. Heiskell & Co. conducts business. However, my office will be at our corporate office in Tulare, California.
What are your new responsibilities?
I will be handling all of the press releases for J.D. Heiskell & Co. and will be the primary contact for the media. In addition, I will handle all aspects of social media and publicity. I will also coordinate company events and will be the primary contact for all charitable donations from the company.
What previous positions have you held?
Prior to staying home with my three children for the past eight years, I was an investment representative and broker for Edward Jones Investments.
What excites you most about working in your new role?
The company I work for is second to none. The culture here is one that fosters success, commitment and integrity. It will be easy for me to be the face of this company to the media and to the public, because I believe in what it stands for with such enthusiasm.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I hope that I will help them by familiarizing the client base with how J.D. Heiskell & Co. can meet their needs with the quality products and services we provide.

It was an easy choice and, as I stated above, I was drawn to the culture here and what we stand for. It is a business that I feel is vital to agriculture, and I am proud to be a part of a company that is a leader in its industry.
What goals would you like to accomplish in this position?
I would like to integrate social media into our communication with our clients, and I would like to expand the public relations and marketing here. PD
