What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I am a graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in both agriculture and applied economics and dairy science.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I grew up on my family’s dairy farm where I was actively involved in all aspects, from milking cows to running equipment. I was also active in 4-H and FFA, participating in dairy judging, dairy quiz bowl and showing cattle at the county and state fair. While in college, I was actively involved in the Badger Dairy Club, the Association of Women in Agriculture and National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA). I still enjoy being involved by helping with our local 4-H dairy judging team.

What territory will you cover?
I will be working at Udder Tech’s office in Minnesota, where I will help with sales to customers all across the country.

What are your new responsibilities?
I will be responsible for taking and processing orders, as well as making business and production decisions. I will also work on direct sales and will be traveling to various trade shows.

What previous positions have you held?
Prior to working for this company, I was a sales representative for Mycogen Seeds in northwest Wisconsin, where I gained experience in sales, marketing and agronomy. My responsibilities included managing local dealers, sales forecasting, direct sales and problem solving.

Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
My parents have had a large impact on my career. They started by giving me the opportunity to grow up on a dairy farm and to be involved in the dairy industry, and continued to be supportive as I ventured out to try new and different things. They taught me that hard work, honesty and accountability will go far in life and in the workplace.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
The company offers great products that help producers do their job more efficiently and keep clean. I look forward to making more people aware of those products, helping producers be more efficient and helping them find the right product for their needs.

Why did you choose this company?
Udder Tech not only has great staff members and customers to work with, but they also have quality products specifically designed for dairy producers. It’s also a family business, which was started by my mother while we were still dairy farming. I am excited to be given the opportunity to return home and help continue growing the business.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goal is to use my previous knowledge and experience to make the process for forecasting and production more efficient and accurate. Additionally, gaining a better overall understanding of the business is a goal that will allow me to assist more with the overall business analysis. PD
