Dairysan Pasteurizer Cleaner is made with high alkalinity for better performance cleaning. Active ingredients break down fats and proteins and can be used in all food processing plants where heavy organic deposits are a problem. Applying it to your pasteurizer cleaning practices can assist you with proper sanitation in your calf-feeding program.
Used as a CIP detergent booster in a milk system wash cycle, Seal Off removes the remains of Orbeseal and other internal teat sealants from milk transfer equipment such as milk units, receiver jars, and pipelines.

The addition of powder and liquid laundry soap is also a part of the product launch. Laundry PWD-S and Laundry LIQ-S serve as perfect solutions for cleaning and sanitizing wash cloths used during milking. Both detergents are made with safe bleach that can be utilized in the cleaning of micro fiber towels. Laundry PWD-S is available in 100 and 400-pound drums while the Laundry LIQ-S is available in 15 and 55-gallon drums. The liquid laundry soap can be administered through a dispensing system to control inventory and ensure proper usage.

Foaming Acid Cleaner and Foaming ALK Detergent, used in the exterior cleaning of milk equipment, contain a unique blend of wetting agents and detergents and are both formulated to remove stains, deodorize, and efficiently clean equipment, wall, and floor surfaces. The cleaner is manufactured in purple and the detergent in yellow for easier identification on the farm. Both are available in 15-gallon and 55-gallon sizes.

AgriLabs launches ACHIEVE with Cryptex
Adam Yankowsky, AgriLabs Business Unit Manager, recently unveiled the newest in the AgriLabs line of products designed specifically to support the natural immunity of calves, ACHIEVE with Cryptex.

This product is a highly palatable, easy-to-use and extremely digestible paste that is scientifically formulated for newborns. The paste contains: targeted egg-yolk proteins, combating common pathogens that cause malnutrition and scours; lactic acid-producing bacteria, glutamine and inulin, combining to crowd out harmful bacteria in the gut, support intestinal health and foster the growth of beneficial bacteria; and Cryptex, a precisely formulated polysaccharide and thermally-activated carbon mixture, gives this product its characteristic black color. It removes pathogenic toxins from the intestine and creates a hostile environment for pathogens such as Cryptosporidium, a major cause of protozoal diarrhea.

Because not every newborn is provided with the best quality colostrum in a timely way, providing this formula 24 hours after birth and longer is a significant benefit to the calf's sustained growth and health.

Bio-Vet Introduces ParturX Drench and Paste
Bio-Vet introduces ParturX, a unique supplement that addresses the two most common metabolic issues in cows after calving: short term calcium deficiency (milk fever) and negative energy balance (ketosis).

The ParturX drench and paste both supply high levels of calcium, vitamins, magnesium, and propylene glycol. Each dose of these products supplies 12 grams of niacin, the recommended level needed for fresh cows to aid liver function. This product helps cows maintain blood glucose levels and restore a positive energy balance after calving. Also, this is the only product of its kind to contain a full feeding of yeast culture to support rumen function and appetite.

Bio-Vet president William Zimmer, DVM, has coined the term “parturition complex” to encompass the numerous interactions of hypocalcemia (milk fever), ketosis, low blood glucose and immune system suppression present at calving. If 10 percent or more of a herd ends up in the hospital pen at any time during the first 30 days of lactation, parturition complex issues are likely present, resulting in significant production losses.

The drench product is available in one-gallon (3.785 L) jugs. The paste product is sold in 400-gram tubes and may be applied with standard tube guns. Feeding rates: Drench–200 ml per cow per day (1 gallon jug contains about 19 doses); Paste– one tube (400 g) per cow per day.

New pharmaceutical plant introduces first product for the livestock producer
Each year in the United States, over 15 million castration procedures are performed on male calves destined for beef production. Of these 15 million, approximately four million come from dairy herds. Although the benefits of castration are accepted in most countries, all the methods of castration result in behavioral changes indicative of pain and distress.

Adult cows experience discomfort during removal of hairy heal foot warts and wounds caused by hoof trimming. The industry needs a single product that is safe and effective in reducing pain and the risk of infection, resulting in a net benefit to the welfare of the animal. Aurora Pharmaceutical has developed a unique wound care product to address pain relief and prevent infections.

BARRIER Wound Care Spray with pain relief (patent pending) contains 2% titratable iodine that kills up to 99% of surface germs that may cause an infection.

The product contains lidocaine to alleviate pain when removing hairy-heal foot warts, on wounds and surgical incisions. It has also been reported to reduce bleeding and shorten the healing time after castration. The product dries in approximately 60 seconds and forms a highly visible and durable coating, which can last up to 12 hours.
This product is packaged in bulk gallons and a 16-ounce bottle that comes with a trigger sprayer. To apply, hold the sprayer about 4‐6 inches from the area to be treated and spray one or more times.

ParlorPro expands iPrep offering
At the recent National Mastitis Council 50th Annual Meeting in Arlington, Virginia, the Teat Health Committee discussed the important role innovation and technology will play on parlor management and teat health in the future, not only for the health of the cow, but for the well being of the dairymen through increased efficiency of parlor management tools.

Lauren AgriSystems was requested to demonstrate ParlorPro to the committee. ParlorPro is a data collection and analysis program for dairy related items. Lauren AgriSystems introduced iPrep, a smartphone app currently available to iPhone owners through the Apple store. iPrep is used to analyze prep procedures in dairy parlors.
ParlorPro features an easy-to-use interface for entering (or uploading) and managing information for a user representing one dairy or multiple dairies. Information is collected on a handheld computer while on the dairy. The information collected on the handheld is then uploaded to the database in one easy step where it is stored permanently. The real advantage to ParlorPro is its ability to instantaneously perform calculations and create professional reports.
