Vierra Dairy

Vierra Dairy is a multigeneration dairy operation owned by the Vierra family, milking more than 5,000 cows across three sites in California’s Central Valley.

Their unique blend of commercial dairying and elite genetics marketing has generated a robust social media presence, attracting followers from both the dairy industry and outside of it.

How did you get started sharing your farming journey on social media?

We are currently the fifth generation at Vierra Dairy, and we wanted to share our legacy and love of cattle with the world. We understand that having this history in the dairy industry is unique and feel it is important for the next generation of farmers to see the love we have for our animals.

How did you build such a strong following on your Instragram?

We believe in quality, consistency and engagement. We pride ourselves on having organic growth, meaning we do not pay for ads or promotions. We want our story to be honest and personal. It also helps that many of our photos feature such cute kids.

On which social media platform are you most active and why?

We are active on both Facebook and Instagram for similar reasons. Facebook tends to attract an older crowd, where Instagram is popular with the younger generation.

What is the most popular post you’ve ever made?

Our most popular photo is of Maia and our twin daughters, River and Reagan. We believe it is popular because it is an example of a working mother in the dairy industry. It is relatable to many families.

Share an example of a rewarding experience you’ve had using social media to communicate about life on the dairy.

The most rewarding aspect of having an online presence is being able to connect with like-minded individuals all over the world. We have a very strong passion in genetics, producing high-quality milk and cow comfort, and it is wonderful to be able to share that with others who feel the same. We are also proud to document this time in our kids’ lives so they can see the foundation we’ve set for them and the future of the cattle industry. end mark
