More than 100 dairy producers and allied industry representatives from 15 states toured Iron Bridge Regional Water Reclamation Facility, Orlando Easterly Wetlands and the Walt Disney World Parks in January 2018. The group was part of Professional Dairy Producers’ annual Managers Academy. The three-day event was held in Orlando, Florida, this year.

In addition to the tours, the group received training from Lee Cockerell, the former executive vice president of operations for the Walt Disney World Resort, who shared how exposure and experience early in his life helped set him up for a successful career. Also, Dr. David Kohl, professor emeritus in the agricultural and applied economics department at Virginia Tech University and president of AgriVisions LLC, recapped the tours and linked lessons from the previous two days to the megatrends he is seeing in the dairy industry.
